Hoods and gadgets

When I was thirteen years old and in school I wore an anorak with a hood even during hot weather, I liked to play with small electronic devices with crappy screens, and I knew what a megabyte is. This was considered hideously unfashionable by my peers who preferred ladies, alcohol, and gossip during class.
Nowadays I regularly gossip in research seminars, I spend quality time with ladies, and I drink loads.
However: also nowadays megabytes are for babies' toys, small electronic devices with crappy screens are huge business, and so is selling hooded tops to thirteen-year-olds.
I don’t mind the world changing and I’m very happy to have grown up — but has one single person said to me “Jamie; in your own way you were ahead of your time.”? No, they have not! It’s so unfair!
